Calibrations Charts for Fish & Meat Fat Meters
For each meter, whether it is a Fatmeter or a Freshness Meter, the internal sensor will give a different response for different types of fish or meat. For example, a section of tuna with 10% fat will produce a different sensor response to a herring with 10% fat. To get valid data from the meter, therefore, we need a method of translating the different sensor response into a meaningful, accurate reading. This method is called a ‘calibration’, and since different species and types of meat and fish respond differently we have a wide range of different calibrations to cover the different samples. We have over one hundred calibrations available across all our meter types.
It is important to understand the principle of a meter calibration, and you can read more about them here.
Each meter can hold many different calibrations, and the purchase price of a Fatmeter includes four calibrations of your choice. The Freshness Meter has a standard set of calibrations. Meters can also have custom calibrations created, and we provide the tools to enable you to do this.
Distell recommend all equipment should be returned for an annual service and re calibration check . Standard cost for service and re calibration is £331.88 plus any additional service items that may be required after the meter has been tested and inspected.
